First Thursday Art Walk Hits Old Torrance |
Local galleries and shops stay open late with live jazz and maker pop-ups. |
Sartori Avenue’s First Thursday Art Walk returns tonight, 5–9 p.m., with 30+ artists staging pop-ups inside Old Torrance galleries, tasting rooms, and alleys. Bartlett Plaza becomes a music court with the Harbor Jazz Ensemble, while Art Supply Warehouse hosts a live mural jam for teens.
New businesses along the Creative Corridor are layering on specials: Blackhouse Bakery is dropping limited guava cruffins, Remedy Plant Co. is offering mini terrarium workshops, and the city’s Economic Development team will debut the “Meet the Maker” passport that earns shoppers tote bags after three stops.
Families can lean into hands-on stations—kids’ chalk art outside Red Car Brewery, print-making demos at Destination: Art, and Rotarians guiding parking at the Civic Center. Most of the route is within a four-block loop, and Torrance Transit is adding a shuttle circuit to help people hop between Sartori, Post, and Cabrillo. Bring a refillable bottle; the city’s water truck is stationed at Plaza del Amo and Cravens. |
