El Prado Classic Car Meet Celebrates 15 Years |
200+ restored rides roll into Downtown Torrance with live rockabilly and diner specials. |
Downtown Torrance shuts down El Prado Avenue this Sunday, 3–8 p.m., for the 15th anniversary Classic Car Meet featuring more than 200 restored cruisers, lowriders, and imports from every decade. Expect chrome contests, hot laps around the post office triangle, and a live rockabilly stage emceed by Torrance Radio DJ Lani Love.
Local restaurants are leaning in with diner-style pop-ups: Red Car is pouring limited “Fifteen Forward” amber ales, Local Kitchen is flipping smash burgers from a sidewalk grill, and Depot’s Scotty Hara is selling bourbon milkshakes to benefit Warrior Pantries. There’s also a vintage pin-up showcase, kids’ diecast swap, and an on-site DMV window handling legacy plates.
Parking: use the Civic Center garage or rideshare drop at Cabrillo & El Prado; the event map opens in Waze via the @oldtownetorrance Instagram bio. Owners rolling in can stage at 2 p.m. via Carson Street; spectators snag free commemorative dash cards by scanning QR codes at the Welcome tent. |
