Del Amo / Madrona Work Triggers This Week’s Biggest Traffic Impacts

Lane reductions and a Challenger Street closure are active through April 24 near the WRD pipe project

The City of Torrance says active traffic controls continue through April 24 around the Del Amo / Madrona work zone tied to the Water Replenishment District raw-water pipe project.

According to the city notice, southbound Madrona Avenue is reduced from three lanes to one between Del Amo Boulevard and Spencer Street, while northbound Madrona is reduced from three lanes to two between Spencer and Del Amo. The city also says eastbound Challenger Street is closed from Mariner Avenue to Pioneer Avenue during daytime work hours, with limited flagger-controlled access.

For commuters, parents, and nearby businesses, this is one of the clearest active road-impact alerts in Torrance right now.
