City Reminds Residents to Be Coyote Aware

Torrance residents, especially those near open spaces or natural areas, are advised to take precautions around urban coyotes and avoid leaving food sources accessible.

The City says urban coyotes may enter residential areas when food is easy to find, including overflowing trash, unenclosed compost, garden fruit, pet food, and occasionally small pets left unsupervised. Residents should secure attractants, supervise pets, and stay aware in neighborhoods near open spaces or natural corridors.
