Lundquist Institute Puts Torrance on the National Research Map

One of Torrance’s biggest innovation stories is coming from the city’s biomedical community. The Lundquist Institute has been recognized in the inaugural Cure Innovation Index as one of the nation’s leading biomedical research institutions, ranking #24 nationally, #9 in the West, and #6 in California.

The recognition highlights more than one institution. It points to Torrance’s growing life-sciences ecosystem, which includes research, healthcare, biotech companies, and medical providers working in and around the city. The City says the ranking reinforces Torrance’s role as a Southern California hub for biomedical innovation, high-quality jobs, and regional economic growth.
