Torrance residents looking for a meaningful way to give back can join the next Seaside Heroes Park Beautification on Saturday, June 13, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 22851 Anza Avenue.
The Conservation Project meets at the park on the second Saturday of each month, with volunteers helping on light park maintenance and California native plant installation. The city says volunteers of all ages are welcome, and student community service forms will be signed after the event.
The park itself carries special meaning for South Torrance. It is named in honor of three young local heroes who grew up in the neighborhood and lost their lives while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. For families, students, and neighbors, this is a simple way to help maintain a place of remembrance and community pride.
