Torrance Receives $1 Million for Public Safety Technology |
Federal funding will support a major public safety digital infrastructure project. |
The City of Torrance, in partnership with U.S. Representative Ted Lieu and the Torrance Police Department, recognized $1,031,000 in federal funding for the city’s Public Safety Digital Infrastructure Expansion Project.
According to the city, the funding will support new Citizen Broadband Radio System sites throughout Torrance. The goal is to improve dedicated wireless network coverage for emergency response, investigations, and critical public safety operations. City officials said the project is designed to strengthen communication and coordination for first responders during emergencies and large-scale incidents.
