Torrance Soccer Exhibit Connects Local History to the 2026 World Cup

The Torrance Historical Society is spotlighting the city’s connection to AYSO and the global game.

Torrance residents have a timely reason to revisit a piece of local sports history as the world looks ahead to the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The History of Soccer Collection is now on display at the Torrance Historical Society Museum. The exhibit was created in celebration of the upcoming World Cup and in recognition of Torrance as the birthplace of AYSO Soccer. The city’s event listing says the exhibit features a private soccer collection shared by Miguel Salazar and Julie Randall, owners of Street Faire Antiques in downtown Torrance.

The Torrance Historical Society lists the exhibit as running from April 15 through August 31, 2026, at the museum on Post Avenue. The listing describes the collection as a way for visitors to explore soccer’s global impact and lasting legacy.

This is a strong Big Buzz story because it is more than a simple event listing. It connects Torrance history, downtown business owners, youth sports, community identity, and a major international moment that will put soccer in the spotlight across Los Angeles and the world.
