Torrance Opens Public Review for Federal Housing and Community Funds

Article Sub-Headline:

Residents can follow how the city plans to use FY 2026 - 27 housing and community development funds.

Torrance residents have a chance to follow how the city plans to use federal housing and community development funding for the next fiscal year.

The city posted a public notice for its FY 2026–27 Annual Action Plan, with a public hearing scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the LeRoy J. Jackson Council Chamber. The notice says the hearing covers approval and submission of the Action Plan, appropriation of funds to projects, and authorization for the City Manager to execute related documents.

The notice also explains that residents may submit written comments and participate through the city’s OneMeeting Public Portal. Comments submitted before 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 18 were set to be published for public review before the meeting, while later comments could still be added to the official record before adjournment.

For residents, this matters because housing, homelessness, fair housing, and community development funds can shape local services, neighborhood investments, and support programs.
