Bakery Keeps a South Bay Sweet Spot Going

The family-owned bakery has grown from a small storefront into one of Torrance’s most recognizable local businesses.

Torrance Bakery is one of those local businesses that feels woven into the rhythm of South Bay life.

The Rossberg family opened Torrance Bakery on October 18, 1984, starting with only 1,200 square feet and seven employees. The bakery says the community quickly embraced the shop, helping it grow into a city favorite known for cakes, pastries, and customer service.

The business has since become a familiar stop for birthday cakes, custom desserts, pastries, sandwiches, and everyday treats. Bake Magazine also highlighted Torrance Bakery’s long community presence, noting that the business grew from its small original footprint into a much larger operation serving the South Bay.

This is a strong Local Love feature because it is not an expired ribbon cutting or a one-week event. It spotlights a long-running Torrance family business that many readers already know, while giving newer residents a reason to discover a local favorite.
