Torrance Library Launches All-Ages Summer Reading Challenge

The citywide “Plant a Seed, Read!” program gives kids, teens, and adults a fun reason to keep reading this summer.

Torrance Public Library is getting ready to launch its 2026 All-Ages Summer Reading Program, giving residents of every age a simple way to stay engaged during the summer.

This year’s theme is “Plant a Seed, Read!” and the program runs from June 8 through August 15. Participants can complete 16 hours of reading, finish 16 library or literacy-related activities, or combine reading and activities to earn a completion certificate and a special prize while supplies last.

Residents can participate in person by visiting any Torrance library beginning June 8 to register and pick up an activity tracking sheet. Virtual participation is also available through Beanstack starting June 8.

This is a strong fit for families, kids, teens, adults, and anyone looking for a free summer activity that supports learning close to home.
