Torrance Asks Residents to Help Shape the Future of Local Libraries |
Upcoming focus groups are part of a library needs assessment designed to guide future priorities and services. |
Torrance Public Library is asking residents to help shape what local library service should look like in the years ahead.
The city is conducting a public library needs assessment, which it describes as a planning tool used to set priorities and guide decisions about how the library should serve the community over the next few years. The process is based on input from library staff, community members, and local partners.
That matters because Torrance libraries are more than book-lending locations. They also support families, students, seniors, job seekers, readers, digital learners, and residents who use the library as a trusted community space.
Upcoming opportunities include a Virtual Families Focus Group on May 28 and a General Public Focus Group on May 30, according to the library calendar. Residents who care about library hours, children’s programs, technology help, study space, community events, and neighborhood access may want to participate or follow the process.
