Torrance aviation fans have a new date to circle on the calendar.

The Western Museum of Flight is hosting a Celebrity Lecture on Saturday, June 20, from 11 a.m. to noon, featuring Doug Shane, Director of Aircraft Development at Anduril Industries. The city event listing says Shane will share what it is like to work in innovative and creative design-production environments, including Scaled Composites, Virgin Galactic, and Anduril Industries.

For Torrance, the event fits naturally. The city has a deep aviation history, and the Western Museum of Flight continues to preserve and share that connection with residents, students, and aerospace enthusiasts.

The lecture offers more than a museum visit. It gives attendees a chance to hear from someone connected to modern aerospace development and advanced aircraft design. For students interested in engineering, technology, aviation, or defense innovation, this could be a valuable local learning opportunity.
