Torrance residents may hear the Refinery Community Alert Sirens on Wednesday, June 3, as part of the city’s regular monthly test.
The City of Torrance lists the test for approximately 11:30 a.m. to noon and emphasizes that the scheduled siren activation is only a test. According to the city, the monthly test includes all-clear chimes before and after the siren tone, with total testing time not expected to exceed five minutes.
For residents, the test is also a useful reminder of what to do during a real emergency. The city’s guidance is simple: “Shelter. Shut. Listen.” That means go indoors, close vents, windows, and doors, and listen for official instructions.
