Free E-Waste and Paper Shredding Event Coming June 27 |
Torrance residents can safely recycle electronics and shred paper at a city event. |
Old electronics and sensitive paperwork have a way of piling up at home. Torrance residents will have a free disposal option later this month.
The City of Torrance lists its next E-Waste Recycling and Paper Shredding event for Saturday, June 27, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event gives residents a way to safely recycle electronics and shred personal documents instead of letting them sit in closets, garages, or home offices.
The city says residents may bring TVs, monitors, cell phones, small appliances, and other electronics for responsible recycling. Paper shredding is limited to three boxes or bags per vehicle.
Residents should also note what is not accepted. The city says hazardous waste will not be accepted at this event, including items such as paint, batteries, medications, glues, fluorescent bulbs, pesticides, cleaners, and insect repellents.
This event is for Torrance residents only, so attendees should be prepared to show proof of residency.
