Kids Can Read to Dogs at Torrance Public Library

BARK Reading to Dogs gives young readers a friendly, low-pressure way to practice reading aloud.

Torrance Public Library has a sweet summer activity for young readers.

BARK Reading to Dogs is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. as part of the library’s June event calendar. The program gives children a chance to practice reading aloud in a relaxed setting with a trained dog as a patient listener.

Programs like this can be especially helpful for kids who are building reading confidence. Instead of reading in front of a classroom or group, children get a friendly, nonjudgmental audience that makes the experience feel calmer and more fun.

Families should check the Torrance Public Library calendar for location details and any participation requirements before attending.
