Refinery Community Alert Siren Test Set for July 1

Torrance residents should be aware that the next Community Alert Siren Test is scheduled for Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at approximately 11:30 a.m.

The City of Torrance says the monthly refinery siren test includes one-minute “all-clear chimes” before and after a two-minute siren tone. The total testing time is expected to last no more than five minutes.

The city emphasizes that this is only a test. During a real emergency, residents who hear the sirens should remember the city’s instruction: Shelter. Shut. Listen. That means go indoors, close vents, windows, and doors, and listen for instructions through local cable, radio, or other official city channels.
