Torrance Library Invites All Ages to “Plant a Seed, Read!”

The summer reading challenge runs through August 15 and gives residents a fun way to earn a certificate and prize.

Torrance Public Library is giving residents of all ages a reason to keep reading this summer.

The 2026 All-Ages Summer Reading Program, “Plant a Seed, Read!”, runs from June 8 through August 15, 2026. Participants can complete the challenge by reading 16 hours, finishing 16 library or literacy-related activities, or combining reading and activities.

Those who complete the challenge can earn a completion certificate and a special prize, while supplies last. Once the initial challenge is complete, participants can read eight additional hours or complete eight special activities to earn one bonus prize.

Residents can participate in person by visiting any Torrance Library to register and pick up an activity tracking sheet. Virtual participation is also available through the Torrance Public Library Beanstack site or the Beanstack Tracker app.
