Artesia Boulevard Traffic Controls Continue During Long-Term Sanitation Project |
Drivers should stay alert near Artesia Boulevard between Van Ness Avenue and Western Avenue as construction activity continues. |
A long-term construction project continues to affect traffic conditions near the Torrance-Gardena area.
The City of Torrance’s Traffic Impacts page says the Los Angeles County Sanitation District began construction of a new pumping station in Gardena, with traffic modifications affecting Artesia Boulevard between Van Ness Avenue and Western Avenue.
The city says a traffic-control plan is in place to maintain safety and traffic flow, including temporary lane striping and delineation. Two lanes are expected to remain open in both directions, eastbound and westbound, during the project.
Even without full lane closures, drivers should use extra caution. Construction zones can bring shifting lane markings, slower traffic, worker activity, and unexpected braking.
The project is expected to last approximately 30 months, with an approximate end date listed as December 2027.
For commuters, parents, delivery drivers, and anyone heading through North Torrance, this is a useful alert to keep in mind.
