PCH Work Could Mean Nighttime Delays Through Torrance |
Long-term pavement rehabilitation on Pacific Coast Highway includes lane closures, construction noise, and possible detours. |
Pacific Coast Highway drivers may continue seeing construction impacts in Torrance.
The City of Torrance’s Traffic Impacts page lists PCH lane closures for pavement rehabilitation between Pennsylvania Avenue and Palos Verdes Boulevard. The work includes pavement rehabilitation, ADA curb ramp upgrades, bus pads, sidewalks, bike lanes, drainage improvements, gutter work, and new striping.
The city says multiple lane closures may occur during construction hours of 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday. Nearby residents and businesses may experience noise, vibration, and grinding connected to the work.
Drivers should expect possible delays, watch for posted detour signs, and consider alternate routes when needed. The city also points motorists to Caltrans QuickMap for real-time traffic information.
The broader construction schedule is listed from winter 2023/2024 through winter 2027/2028, so this is not a one-week inconvenience. It is a long-term traffic item worth keeping on the radar.
