One of Torrance’s most impressive museums is hiding inside an active corporate headquarters.

The American Honda Collection Hall traces Honda’s American history through more than 60 products, including automobiles, motorcycles, racing vehicles, power equipment, marine engines, and other innovations. The self-guided experience combines vehicles with photographs, displays, and narrated videos.

The museum begins with a recreation inspired by Honda’s original 1959 headquarters on Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles. From there, visitors move through decades of products and ideas that helped transform the company from a motorcycle importer into a major force in American transportation and technology.

Because the hall is located in the lobby of Honda’s U.S. headquarters, many residents may pass the Torrance Boulevard campus without realizing there is a public collection inside.

The museum is generally open free of charge during regular weekday business hours. On selected Saturdays, Honda also holds Cars, Bikes & Coffee gatherings featuring enthusiast vehicles, special exhibits, vendors, music, food trucks, and access to the Collection Hall.

The next event takes place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 18, with gates opening earlier for display parking. The summer gathering will include picnic activities, an Accord ride-along experience, free coffee, food trucks, giveaways, and museum admission.

The American Honda Collection Hall is located at 1919 Torrance Boulevard. Weekday visitors should use the visitor parking area off Torrance Boulevard; Cars, Bikes & Coffee guests enter from Main Street off Harpers Way.
