Some Torrance shopping trips begin with a list. A visit to The Roadium works better with an open mind.

The 15-acre outdoor market brings together an eclectic mix of vendors selling new and used clothing, furniture, jewelry, collectibles, household goods, flowers, produce, and items that resist easy categorization. Part of the fun is not knowing exactly what will appear around the next corner.

That unpredictability gives The Roadium a different energy from a conventional shopping center. Shoppers can compare prices, search for vintage pieces, discover practical household finds, and occasionally encounter something they did not know they wanted until they saw it.

Discover Torrance describes the market as having more than 450 vendors, while The Roadium emphasizes its family-friendly atmosphere and combination of new and secondhand merchandise.

The market is located at 2500 W. Redondo Beach Boulevard and is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, except Christmas and New Year’s Day. Visitors can enter the main parking lot from Redondo Beach Boulevard. On weekends and holidays, free parking and shuttle service are also available from El Camino College.

The best strategy is to wear comfortable shoes, bring patience, and allow enough time to explore. Bargain hunters may arrive with a specific target, but The Roadium is at its best when visitors treat the outing as an open-air scavenger hunt.
