Torrance residents traveling toward Los Angeles International Airport have a newly updated public-transit option.

Torrance Transit Line 8 now operates between Torrance and the LAX/Metro Transit Center, with its revised schedule effective July 12. The route also serves Aviation/Imperial Station and other points along Hawthorne Boulevard, Artesia Boulevard, Aviation Boulevard, and the airport area.

The LAX/Metro Transit Center is designed as a regional connection point rather than an airport terminal. Depending on the final destination, riders may need to transfer to another service to reach an airline terminal.

Still, the updated connection gives Torrance passengers another way to approach the airport district without driving the entire distance, paying for airport parking, or arranging a separate ride from home.

Line 8 also connects with services operated by L.A. Metro, GTrans, and LADOT, making it useful for trips beyond the airport itself.

Travelers should allow extra time for transfers and review the complete timetable before departure. Airport trips can be less forgiving than ordinary errands, especially when luggage, flight check-in deadlines, or unfamiliar transfer points are involved.

The city’s Line 8 page provides weekday and weekend schedules, route stops, maps, and connection information.
