Torrance Summer Reading Challenge Continues Through August 15 |
Readers of every age can still complete the challenge and earn a prize. |

There is still time for Torrance residents of every age to join the Public Library’s annual summer reading challenge.
This year’s theme, Plant a Seed, Read!, continues through August 15. Participants can complete the program by reading for 16 hours, finishing 16 library or literacy-related activities, or using a combination of reading and activities.
Those who complete the challenge can receive a certificate and a special prize while supplies last.
The flexible format makes the program accessible to young children, independent readers, teenagers and adults. Families can also participate together by reading aloud, visiting a library branch or completing literacy activities at home.
Registration materials and activity-tracking sheets are available at Torrance library locations. The library calendar also includes storytimes, crafts, concerts, workshops and other programs that can help participants remain engaged throughout the summer.
