The City of Torrance has appointed Corbin Carson as its new Communications Manager.

Carson began the position on July 6 and will lead the city’s Communications Division. His responsibilities include media relations, digital communications, public information, community engagement, emergency communications and coordination of messaging across city departments.

The role affects how residents receive information about city programs, public meetings, emergencies, service changes and community announcements.

Carson brings more than 15 years of experience in journalism, public affairs, strategic communications and crisis response. Most recently, he served as Public Affairs Manager for the City of Huntington Beach, where he worked with city leadership and public-safety departments during major incidents and high-profile events.

City officials said the appointment is intended to help Torrance provide residents and businesses with clearer, more consistent and more coordinated information.
