The Torrance Public Library is adding a little friendly competition to summer reading with Library Olympics on Friday, July 24, at 11 a.m.
The program gives children an opportunity to take part in book-inspired games and activities rather than simply sitting down for a traditional reading program. Past Library Olympics descriptions have included playful challenges designe d to connect books, movement and friendly competition. The event offers families another way to keep children engaged with the library during summer break. It can also help younger readers associate books and library visits with creativity, games and shared experiences.
The library’s July 2026 calendar lists Library Olympics for Friday morning. Because branch locations, intended age ranges, capacity limits and registration procedures can vary by program, families should open the individual event listing or contact the library before attending.
Library Olympics is one of many free children’s and family programs scheduled across Torrance library branches during the summer reading season.
