A familiar South Bay coffee roaster has opened a new café in the heart of Downtown Torrance.
Offset Coffee’s latest location is at 1413 Marcelina Avenue, joining its existing Torrance café on Crenshaw Boulevard and locations elsewhere in the South Bay. The company describes its approach as producing approachable, high-quality coffee with an emphasis on taste, clarity and consistency.
The Downtown Torrance menu covers the expected coffeehouse essentials, including espresso, Americanos, cappuccinos, cortados, flat whites, drip coffee and cold brew.
More adventurous choices help the café stand apart. Recent menu listings include Dirty Horchata, Hazelnut Latte, Espresso Tonic and Yuzu Lemon Curd Matcha, along with ceremonial matcha drinks and seasonal specialties.
Food options include pastries and light breakfast or lunch choices such as an egg-and-bacon biscuit, ham-and-cheese croissant, avocado toast and citrus olive-oil cake. Menu availability and prices may change.
The Marcelina Avenue location operates in a walkable part of Old Torrance, making it convenient for a morning coffee, an informal meeting or a break while visiting nearby shops and restaurants.
Offset’s arrival is also another sign of Downtown Torrance’s gradual evolution. The district still retains its historic character, but new independent businesses are giving residents additional reasons to spend time there beyond a particular event or street fair.
Sometimes the best local discovery is not an elaborate dinner. It is simply a well-made drink, a comfortable seat and an hour with nowhere else you need to be. |
