Regular users of the Victor E. Benstead Plunge should be aware of a temporary facility closure on Friday, July 24.
The city states that the Plunge will close that day to prepare for its Swim-In Movie Night. Anyone planning lap swimming, recreation swimming or another routine pool visit should check the current schedule before leaving home.
The special evening event runs from 7 to 10 p.m., with Zootopia 2 scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Guests can watch from the pool or sit on the deck. Registration is required because capacity is limited, and admission is listed at $5.
Standard recreation-swim rules will remain in effect. The city says flotation devices and outside food or beverages are not permitted, although guests may bring chairs for use on the pool deck.
The Plunge is located at 3331 Torrance Boulevard, beside the Torrance Cultural Arts Center.
Residents attending another activity at the Civic Center that day should also anticipate increased evening activity near the pool and allow time for parking. |
