Torrance families can now register children for two of the City’s upcoming fall youth sports programs.

The Youth Flag Football League is an eight-week, co-ed program for students entering kindergarten through eighth grade. Games are primarily played on Saturday mornings at Wilson Park, although some older divisions may also play on weekday evenings.

The league is designed to introduce and strengthen football fundamentals while emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship and skill development. Registration costs $79 for Torrance residents and $89 for nonresidents.

The Torrance Cheer Program is open to students entering second through eighth grade. Participants will learn basic cheerleading skills while developing confidence, cooperation and friendships. Cheerleaders will support teams participating in the City’s flag football program.

Registration for both programs opened to Torrance residents on July 14 and nonresidents on July 21. The last day to register is Friday, August 14 at 5 p.m., subject to space remaining.
