Torrance City Hall will be closed on Friday, August 7, as part of the city’s regular 9/80 employee work schedule.

Under that schedule, many City Hall offices operate for nine working days during each two-week period and close every other Friday. The August 7 closure is planned and is not connected to an emergency or special event.

Residents who need help with permits, public records, licenses, payments or other in-person services should consider visiting earlier in the week. Office hours and closure schedules may vary for individual departments, so residents should verify availability before traveling to the Civic Center.

Some routine transactions can be completed through the city’s website, including access to forms, online payments, permit information, meeting records and service-request tools.

Essential public-safety operations will continue, but administrative counters and many nonemergency offices will be unavailable. Residents should use 911 only for immediate police, fire or medical emergencies.

The city’s next scheduled alternate-Friday closure will occur on August 21.
