Preschoolers Can Get Creative During Friday Fun at the Marsh |

Preschoolers can learn about the natural world through crafts, stories and outdoor exploration during Friday Fun at Madrona Marsh on Friday, August 7, from 10 a.m. to noon.
The hands-on program includes a nature-themed craft, story time and a guided walk through the preserve. It is designed to make environmental learning approachable and enjoyable for younger children.
Because the activities combine indoor and outdoor elements, children can engage with the week’s nature topic in several ways. A story may introduce the subject, a craft can reinforce it creatively, and the walk lets participants search for related plants, animals or signs of seasonal change.
Advance registration is required. Registration opens at 10 a.m. on Tuesday of the same week, and families should call the Madrona Marsh Nature Center to reserve a space. Availability may be limited.
Participants should dress for an outdoor walk and bring sun protection and water. Closed-toed shoes may also be more comfortable on the preserve’s pathways.
Friday Fun offers Torrance families a structured local activity without requiring a long drive or an elaborate day trip. It can also help young children build curiosity and confidence in outdoor settings.
