A familiar Torrance restaurant property is being prepared for a new chapter.

Lucy’s & Pop’s Pizza is planned for 22252 Palos Verdes Boulevard, taking over the former Texas Loosey’s space. The forthcoming restaurant is expected to focus on pizza and casual neighborhood dining.

The concept is being developed by longtime South Bay hospitality operators Brian Eldridge and Patrick Mescall. Their restaurant group has been involved with several local establishments, while Mescall is also associated separately with Torrance Tavern.

Early reports describe Lucy’s & Pop’s as an approachable pizzeria offering classic and specialty pizzas with complementary menu items suitable for dining in, groups and takeout. However, a complete menu has not been publicly confirmed.

The reuse of the Texas Loosey’s property will likely attract interest from residents who remember the longtime restaurant. Rather than introducing another national chain, the project comes from operators already familiar with South Bay customers and neighborhood dining habits.

The location is positioned near the Torrance and Redondo Beach boundary and serves residents from South Torrance, Hollywood Riviera and the surrounding neighborhoods.

A firm opening date had not been announced in the most recent publicly available reporting. Residents should therefore treat the restaurant as forthcoming, not currently open, and watch for direct announcements from the owners before planning a visit.
