Torrance City Hall Will Glow With Lights of Hope |
Each light tells a story in the community’s continuing fight against cancer |

Hundreds of community events are designed to entertain. This one is designed to make people stop and remember.
The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network will hold its annual Lights of Hope display at Torrance City Hall on Saturday, August 15, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Each light represents a personal story—a person facing cancer, someone who survived it, or someone whose life is being remembered.
Together, those individual lights create a public symbol of the community’s continuing fight against cancer.
The event also reflects the advocacy mission behind Lights of Hope, which uses personal stories and public visibility to draw attention to cancer and the people affected by it.
For Torrance residents whose families have encountered cancer—and there are many—the display offers something different from the typical Saturday-night event: a place to remember, support and stand alongside others who understand what that experience means.
