Torrance’s already formidable ramen scene just gained another major player.

Daikokuya Ramen has arrived in Torrance, with the restaurant announcing that its new location is now in soft-opening mode at 2589 Pacific Coast Highway in Rolling Hills Plaza. Current soft-opening hours are 5 to 9:30 p.m.

For Southern California ramen fans, Daikokuya needs little introduction.

The restaurant built its reputation in Little Tokyo and became particularly known for its rich, savory bowls of Japanese ramen. Its expansion into Torrance puts another recognizable ramen destination directly in a city whose Japanese dining scene is already one of the strongest in Southern California.

The location is still in soft opening, which means hours, menu availability and operating details may continue changing while the restaurant settles in.

But for Torrance diners, the important part is simple:

The wait is over.

And with Daikokuya joining the local lineup, Torrance’s claim as one of Southern California’s great ramen destinations just became even harder to argue with.
