If there is a Torrance recreation class or program your family really wants this fall, August 18 is the date to remember.

The City of Torrance will open Fall 2026 registration for Torrance residents on Tuesday, August 18. Non-resident registration begins one week later, on Tuesday, August 25.

Fall classes generally begin the week of September 13, unless an individual program lists a different starting date.

Residents receive priority registration, but there is an important preparation step:

Every customer must create an account for registration.

Residents should also check that their account shows the proper residency status before registration opens. The City accepts documents such as a California driver’s license, vehicle registration or insurance, or a current utility bill as proof of Torrance residency.

Online registration is available 24 hours a day once the registration period begins, and payment must be completed to secure a spot.

That preparation can matter because popular recreation programs can fill quickly.

One additional detail: the City currently applies a 2.5% non-refundable surcharge to credit and debit card transactions.

Families interested in a particular fall program should browse the Fall 2026 Seasons Guide now, create or check their account, verify residency and be ready when registration opens.
