Another Torrance City Hall closure is coming up.

City Hall will be closed Friday, August 21, as part of the City’s regular 9/80 work schedule.

Under the schedule, many City Hall offices operate nine longer workdays across a two-week period and close on alternating Fridays.

That can catch residents off guard, especially when someone needs an in-person permit, document, payment or City service and assumes Friday is a normal business day.

Anyone with business at City Hall around that date should consider handling it earlier in the week.

Many Torrance services can also be accessed online, but availability varies depending on the department and transaction.

This is a new closure date, although we have previously alerted readers to Torrance’s recurring 9/80 Friday closures.

So the practical reminder is:

Friday, August 21 — City Hall closed.
