One of Torrance’s largest institutions has received another significant national recognition.

Torrance Memorial Medical Center ranked No. 7 among California hospitals and No. 4 in the Los Angeles and Orange County region in the 2026–27 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings.

The hospital also earned national specialty rankings in Orthopedics at No. 27 and Obstetrics and Gynecology at No. 44.

Beyond those national specialty rankings, Torrance Memorial was rated “high performing” in six specialties and 19 common adult procedures and conditions.

The recognition is particularly noteworthy locally because Torrance Memorial has continued expanding its role as a major healthcare provider for the South Bay while simultaneously planning additional emergency-care capacity.

For Torrance residents, the rankings provide another reminder that one of Southern California’s highly rated medical centers is right here in the city.
