Seventeen Torrance Students Head to College With a Community Boost |
Torrance Education Foundation Awarded $24,000 in Scholarships to Local Graduates |

Seventeen Torrance students are heading into the next chapter of their education with some extra help from their own community.
The Torrance Education Foundation awarded $24,000 in scholarship support to 17 Torrance Unified School District graduates in May 2026, helping students as they begin their college careers.
The scholarships were funded through a combination of corporate partnerships, individual community donations and memorial funds established in honor of loved ones.
That mix of support is what makes this especially appropriate for Local Love.
It is not simply an organization writing checks. Local businesses, families and residents are pooling resources to give Torrance graduates a stronger start after high school.
The Torrance Education Foundation works to supplement educational opportunities for local students beyond what regular school funding can provide, and its scholarship program is one visible example of that mission.
The foundation also offers opportunities for businesses to become corporate scholarship partners and for residents to contribute to memorial scholarship funds.
For the students receiving the awards, the money can help offset some of the many expenses that arrive with college—from tuition and books to transportation and other necessities.
For Torrance, it is another example of a community investing directly in its next generation.
