Southeast Library Will Reopen August 31 — Not August 30 |
The City’s Current Notice Gives a New Reopening Date and Time |

Readers who saved last week’s Southeast Library closure dates should make one important change to their calendars.
The City of Torrance’s current notice says Southeast Library will reopen Monday, August 31 at 10 a.m.
The branch at 23115 Arlington Avenue closed Monday, August 17 for renovations and is scheduled to remain closed through Sunday, August 30.
That differs from the earlier information we reported, which indicated an August 30 reopening.
During the temporary closure, Torrance Public Library’s other five locations will remain open during their regular business hours, so patrons who need books, computers, reference assistance or other library services can use another branch.
Anyone with holds or other business normally handled at Southeast Library should check their library account or contact Torrance Public Library if they are uncertain where to go during the renovation period.
The key date to remember is now:
Monday, August 31 at 10 a.m.
