Want Your City Council Comment Published? There’s a Monday Deadline |
Comments Submitted by 5:30 P.M. August 24 Will Be Posted Before the Meeting |

Torrance residents planning to weigh in on an upcoming City Council matter should know that there is a difference between submitting a comment and submitting it early enough to be published before the meeting.
The next Torrance City Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25 at 6:30 p.m., following a closed session beginning at 5 p.m.
According to the City, written public comments received by 5:30 p.m. on Monday, August 24 will be published for public review before Tuesday’s meeting.
Comments submitted after that deadline but before the meeting adjourns can still be added to the official record, but they may not appear in the pre-meeting public-comment materials.
Residents can submit comments online through the City’s OneMeeting Public Portal or deliver a hard copy to the City Clerk’s Office during regular business hours.
The City also allows residents to participate during the meeting, either in person at the LeRoy J. Jackson Council Chamber or remotely by telephone.
For residents following a particular Council issue, submitting before Monday evening offers one advantage: Council members and other residents have an opportunity to see the written comments before the meeting begins.
So if you have something you want City Hall to hear—and want it available publicly ahead of the meeting—mark 5:30 p.m. Monday, August 24 as the deadline.
