That Tuesday closure is particularly noteworthy for Torrance Buzz readers because it is scheduled to begin right around the time this newsletter arrives Tuesday morning.
The Carson Street interchange serves Torrance residents, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center traffic, nearby businesses and commuters moving between Torrance and the Harbor Freeway, so even a ramp closure can create backups on surrounding streets.
Construction schedules can change because of weather, equipment or other conditions. Drivers should therefore check current Caltrans conditions before leaving, especially if their route depends on the Carson Street ramps.
The closures affect ramps rather than the entire I-110 freeway, but motorists who normally exit or enter at Carson Street may need to use another interchange and allow extra travel time.
Scheduled Work: Tuesday–Thursday, August 25–27
