Providence Torrance Earns Five-Star Federal Rating |
Little Company of Mary receives CMS’s highest hospital designation |

Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance has earned the highest overall hospital rating available from the federal government.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services awarded the Torrance hospital five stars in its latest quality ratings.
Providence says the designation places the medical center among the highest-performing hospitals nationally and in the top 12 percent for safety and quality of care.
Its Transitional Care Center also received a five-star rating. CMS evaluates hospitals using measures that include patient outcomes, safety, hospital readmissions, timeliness of care and patient experience. The ratings are intended to give patients a standardized way to compare hospital performance.
Providence’s Torrance campus has accumulated several major honors in recent years, including recognition from U.S. News & World Report, Newsweek and the Leapfrog Group.
For Torrance residents, the latest five-star designation represents another significant vote of confidence in healthcare available close to home.
