Torrance YMCA Is Looking for Volunteers to Help Feed Seniors |
A few lunchtime hours can make a meaningful difference |

Sometimes helping the community does not require a huge commitment.
The Torrance-South Bay YMCA is seeking volunteers for its Senior Nutrition and Socialization Program, which serves weekday meals to older adults.
Volunteers help with meal preparation, serving food, cleanup, kitchen tasks and office support.
At the Torrance-South Bay YMCA, meals are served Monday through Friday at noon, with volunteers generally needed between approximately 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The program serves an important purpose beyond nutrition.
For many seniors, a community meal also provides routine, conversation and an opportunity to spend time with other people — something that can be particularly valuable for older adults who live alone.
Volunteers can choose which days and locations work for their schedules, making the program accessible even for residents who cannot commit every day.
The Torrance-South Bay YMCA is located at 2900 Sepulveda Boulevard.
For anyone who has been thinking about volunteering locally but does not know where to start, two hours around lunchtime may be enough to make a real difference.
