Origami Brings Handrolls and Japanese Skewers to Del Amo |
The new spot pairs made-to-order temaki with kushiyaki and a full drink menu |

Del Amo Fashion Center has added another Japanese dining option — and this one is built around two things that are especially easy to share.
Origami Handroll x Kushiyaki Bar is now open at 21434 Hawthorne Boulevard, Unit 605C, near Nordstrom.
The concept combines freshly made temaki handrolls with kushiyaki, Japanese-style grilled skewers.
Guests can order handrolls individually or in sets, with options ranging from spicy tuna, salmon and yellowtail to more premium choices such as uni and other specialty seafood. The restaurant also offers vegan handrolls.
On the grilled side, the kushiyaki menu adds meats, seafood and vegetables, giving the restaurant a broader identity than a typical sushi counter.
There are also shareable plates including spicy tuna crispy rice, spicy salmon crispy rice and tempura.
For drinks, Origami offers beer, wine and other beverages, while the restaurant’s patio is listed as pet-friendly.
One other detail worth knowing: the Torrance location is cashless.
If your usual Del Amo meal has become a little predictable, this gives shoppers a new option that can be as quick as a few handrolls or stretched into a full dinner of rolls, skewers and drinks.
