There has been an important change to the reopening schedule for Southeast Library.

Last week, we reported that the Arlington Avenue branch was expected to reopen Monday, August 31 based on the City’s previously published schedule.

That is no longer the current information.

The Torrance Public Library calendar now lists Southeast Library as closed from August 31 through Saturday, September 5 for building repairs.

The branch is located at 23115 Arlington Avenue.

The library says its book drops remain available, and materials may also be returned at any other Torrance Public Library location while the branch is closed.

Residents who normally use Southeast Library should therefore make alternate plans this week and check the City’s calendar before making a trip to the branch.

This is exactly the kind of schedule change we want to flag quickly: if you remembered our earlier August 31 reopening date, do not head over expecting the branch to be open this week.
