Torrance residents with City Hall business to handle should pay close attention to the calendar this week.

City Hall will be closed Friday, September 4 as part of Torrance’s regular 9/80 work schedule.

That closure runs directly into the weekend.

Then City Hall will remain closed Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day.

In practical terms, that means residents will face four consecutive days without normal City Hall counter service — Friday through Monday.

Anyone needing permits, payments, records, planning assistance or another in-person City service should consider handling it earlier in the week rather than waiting until Friday.

Some City services may still be available online, depending on the department.

City Hall’s 9/80 schedule closes the building every other Friday, so the September 4 closure is routine. What makes this one worth flagging is its position immediately before the Labor Day weekend.

If your errand can’t wait until after the holiday, Thursday is the safer target.
