Labor Day Will Push Back Torrance Trash Pickup |
Monday-through-Thursday collections move one day later next week |

Labor Day will change Torrance’s residential trash schedule next week.
Because the City-observed holiday falls on Monday, September 7, residential trash, recycling and organics collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.
The temporary schedule will be:
Monday collection → Tuesday
Tuesday collection → Wednesday
Wednesday collection → Thursday
Thursday collection → Friday
Torrance normally provides residential collection Monday through Thursday, between approximately 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
There is also an important difference involving street sweeping.
The City says street sweeping does not shift forward after a holiday. When sweeping falls on a holiday, it is simply skipped for that day rather than rescheduled.
Parking enforcement associated with street sweeping also does not take place on Labor Day.
So if Monday is normally your collection day, leave the carts in for one more night.
Tuesday is your pickup day next week.
