Torrance Commerce Center Reaches Its Next Major Phase |

A major piece of Torrance’s industrial landscape is continuing to take shape.
The Torrance Commerce Center is being developed in two phases, replacing older corporate improvements with seven modern concrete industrial buildings designed for manufacturing, technology and logistics users.
The first phase includes three buildings totaling more than 400,000 square feet. Phase two adds four more buildings, including one nearly 269,000 square feet, bringing the overall project close to one million square feet of new industrial space.
The project also includes modern infrastructure such as solar-ready roofs, electric-vehicle charging, LED lighting, drought-tolerant landscaping and upgraded utility connections.
What makes the development especially significant for Torrance is the type of companies it is attracting. Oltmans Construction identifies Hadrian, Alpine Electronics and AIT among the businesses occupying space within the center, reinforcing the city’s growing role in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, technology and distribution.
Rather than a single flashy opening, this is the gradual creation of a new employment district — and one that could shape Torrance’s industrial economy for years.
