Madrona Marsh’s Discovery Zone is one of the most family-friendly events on this week’s list. Scheduled for Saturday, September 19, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., it gives children a chance to explore nature through touch, observation and play rather than just listening from the sidelines.

The program includes real marsh-related objects such as feathers, seeds, animal tracks, shells and plant samples, plus interactive displays and simple science activities. For parents and grandparents looking for a low-pressure Torrance outing that feels both fun and educational, this is a very solid weekend option.
