Torrance Volunteers Are Ready to “Tackle the Trash” |
Coastal Cleanup Day returns for its 29th year with a goal of making Torrance Beach cleaner than ever. |

On Saturday, September 19, Team Torrance will join volunteers across California for Coastal Cleanup Day, with the local effort running from 9 a.m. to noon at Torrance Beach. The City says last year’s cleanup attracted more than 400 volunteers, and this year’s goal is to make an even bigger impact.
The 2026 theme is “Tackle the Trash,” giving the cleanup a sports-inspired twist while bringing together residents, students, businesses, City staff and community organizations. Students can earn up to three hours of community service, and organizers are encouraging participants to bring reusable gloves, buckets and water bottles to help keep the event itself low-waste.
It is a simple idea with visible results: neighbors spending one morning together to leave one of Torrance’s best-loved places better than they found it.
